The Welcome Ceremony was held on the 2nd of July at 6:30 pm in the historical center of Perugia. The ceremony took place in IV Novembre Square. The celebration was followed by entertainment shows displaying allegoric topics on the General Assembly.

The XXIV General Assembly of IUGG (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics) which in two weeks has made Perugia the main attraction for the scientific world, officially closed on July 13, 2007. We celebrated the official closing ceremony of the event in the Aula Magna of the University of Perugia (Palazzo Murena). The ceremony was attended by the leaders of the Organization led by Chairman Uri Shamir, who expressed deep appreciation for the way many activities had been held in the program, congratulated the LOC and the entire staff for the service, and also praised the beautiful and welcoming city of Perugia.

During this meeting held on the 7^th december 2007 the main points concerning the organizational activities, the conduction and results of the XXIV General Assembly of IUGG (International Union Geodesy and Geophysics) in Perugia held July 2 to 13, 2007 have been summarized and discussed.
Therefore, have been presented the most important moments of this long journey that started at Sapporo in 2003, with the appointment of Perugia as the seat of the Assembly and the appointment of the XXIV National Research Council and the University of Perugia, to be responsible for Local Organising Committee (LOC).
